The development of Lumino® was completed in the first months of 2011, secured by patent and presented with great success at the special trade fairs JEC in Paris and ECS in Nuremberg at the end of March.
Also in March, the outstanding importance of our research project was rewarded with considerable funding from state and European Union funds.
At the Inventors’ Fair in Geneva in April we were awarded a silver medal and in May we won first place in the Thuringian Founding Ideas Competition 2011. In the middle of the year we started production of Lumino®-Stone and launched marketing. At the same time, the development and production of casting molds for the MAS components ran parallel to this.
In October we finished the preparations for the construction of our show house and started with the construction. During the Inventors’ Fair in Nuremberg from 27th to 30th October we were able to exhibit part of the house and demonstrate the Lumino products in our own dark room. Both the MAS elements and Lumino were awarded a gold medal.
We also received the prestigious “Minds Gold Award” from the Malaysian Invention and Design Society. Our show house was completed just in time for the annual celebration of our opening on 20 Nov. Also in November, we were awarded the “Sicher mit System” seal of approval by the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for Raw Materials and the Chemical Industry.
Another special honor followed shortly afterwards during a gala event in the Kaisersaal in Erfurt, where Polycare was awarded the Bavarian/Thuringia Investment Prize of the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade BWA. At the subsequent “Innovation Day 2011” trade fair, the Minister President of the State of Thuringia, Mrs. Lieberknecht, visited the Polycare stand and informed herself in detail about the innovative products.
